Two scripts and several references
Identify the document to be submitted and provide established spellings of names, such as those used in a passport or receiving file. The presence of two scripts does not establish that every version is identical or justify quietly removing differences. An unclear letter or registry number calls for a sharper copy. Translation should reflect each source rather than assemble a new identity from fragments elsewhere in the file.
Civil and academic certificates can contain seals, handwriting and later notes. Send fronts, marked reverse sides and attachments. If several people share a surname, group the pieces by holder. A translated qualification conveys the original titles and grades; formal academic equivalence is determined by the relevant institution, not the translator's signature.
Agreements and companies
Send connected powers, minutes and registry records together. Legal translation considers appointments, granted powers and clauses without assigning a Serbian institution the role of a similarly titled Spanish one. A new extract may show representatives different from those named in an older power. Each original retains its own issue date and content.

Translation services without sworn certification may suit correspondence or private assessment of a transaction. Formal status depends on the procedure and receiving body, not simply the language or presence of a stamp. Ask whether the recipient needs the entire document or particular pieces and share its instructions.
Direction and languages in the file
Serbian into Spanish and Spanish into Serbian are different directions. For a Spanish procedure, appropriate authorisation and availability are checked. For submission in Serbia, ask the local organisation which form it accepts. Spanish sworn status is not an automatic guarantee of admission abroad.
Other languages can appear beside Serbian. Identify the passages in scope and their authoritative source. A courtesy English version or a related-language document should not be labelled Serbian or quietly replace the original. Where records use different scripts, scope should identify which source is being certified and how it relates to the others.
Certification and authentication
The authorised professional signs and certifies under the applicable rules. Electronic signing may permit digital delivery where the prescribed method is used and the recipient accepts it. A printout of a signed PDF is not automatically the electronic original. Tell us about paper, extra copies or dispatch so timing and costs can be assessed.
Apostille or legalisation of the source is a separate requirement where requested by the recipient. Ask which item needs authentication. Include an existing apostille and identify whether its wording must be translated. Certifying a translation does not authenticate the underlying record.

Preparing a proposal
Send every legible page, countries of issue and use, direction, recipient, deadline and medium. Provide name references and explain any versions in two scripts. Volume, annotations, subject and professional availability shape price and timing. If the original will be corrected, identify the final version before requesting certification.
Read about sworn translation and our quality checks. Use the quote form to send the source and requirements. Preliminary reading can be scoped separately if you have yet to decide which records to file.
Where several certificates were issued at different times, identify those supplied as background and the one currently relevant to the procedure. A note on an older certificate should not be merged into the new source. Keeping the sequence visible allows the recipient to decide what it needs without the translated text rewriting any of the originals.
A company record may also use Latin letters for a trade name while the registered entity appears in Cyrillic. Tell us which form is used in the receiving application. A brand should not be presented as the legal entity merely because it appears prominently on the document. The source and official references are considered together.
Frequently asked questions
Does it matter that Serbian is written in Cyrillic and Latin letters?
Yes, the records should be examined as issued. Provide official name spellings and identify the piece to be filed. Two versions are not assumed identical.
Can a Serbian certificate with later notes be translated?
Send every side, stamp and note at a readable resolution. The recipient determines which record it needs. Direction and professional availability are checked before certification.
Can an English version replace the Serbian original?
Only if the recipient accepts it and its status is clear. It may be a reference but does not automatically replace the source. Send both and the relevant instructions.
Can it be delivered as an electronically signed file?
That depends on the professional's form and recipient's acceptance. State whether a digital file or paper is required. A printout may not preserve the signed electronic original.
Will Spanish sworn translation be accepted in Serbia?
There is no general guarantee. Ask the Serbian recipient which certification and medium it accepts. That answer determines the suitable route.
