Start with the complete record
Civil status certificates, academic records and other official documents can have notes on the reverse, later amendments or accompanying sheets. Send every page, even where part of the form appears to be in English. The recipient may need a translation of a stamp, an attachment or a field outside the main text. A cropped photograph does not give the translator a reliable view of the document being certified.
Check which version you intend to submit. If a certificate has been reissued, its date and content may differ from an earlier copy. Provide names as they appear in identity documents if there is a discrepancy, but do not expect the translator to rewrite the source record to make it match. Clear images and relevant references allow a question to be resolved before the signed translation is prepared.
Finnish and Swedish in the same file
The issuing country alone does not establish the source language. A Finnish file may include Finnish, Swedish or multilingual forms. Identify all the pages and languages you want covered. An accredited Finnish professional does not automatically certify separate Swedish text. We assess the language of each piece and the available resources before fixing scope and price.

If the document is for background reading rather than a formal submission, translation services may be more appropriate. A multilingual original may satisfy a particular recipient, but that decision belongs to the organisation receiving it. Ask for its instructions before paying for a form of translation it may not require.
Direction and place of use
Finnish into Spanish and Spanish into Finnish are distinct assignments. Tell us which you need and where the result will be filed. For a Spanish procedure, we confirm the relevant professional's authorisation and availability. For a filing in Finland, ask the Finnish recipient what form of translation it accepts. A sworn translation under the Spanish system should not be assumed to meet every foreign authority's rules.
The sworn translation service can cover selected documents rather than an entire archive. A university might ask for a degree certificate and transcript while excluding course descriptions. Share the written instructions and identify the exact version of each record. We can then quote the required material instead of guessing whether every annex is necessary.
Signature, format and authentication
An electronically signed delivery may be possible, subject to the professional's method and the recipient's acceptance. Tell us whether you need an electronic original, paper copies or both. Printing a signed PDF does not necessarily preserve the status of the electronic original. Physical dispatch and additional copies have to be considered in the timetable rather than added as an afterthought.

An apostille or legalisation relates to authentication of the source document, which is separate from its translation. Do not assume that a Finnish record always needs an apostille. The receiving organisation should tell you what applies to the particular procedure. If authentication has already been attached, send that page too so that any wording requiring translation can be included in the assessment.
Requesting a quotation
Send a legible complete copy, the language direction, country and organisation of use, requested delivery medium and deadline. Mention documents in several languages and any handwritten annotations. We will assess length, content and the accredited collaborator's availability before offering a price and date. Our quality process covers the checks used when handling names, figures and the agreed document scope.
Use the quote form to provide the recipient's instructions alongside the file. If you are unsure whether sworn certification is needed, the written requirement is more useful than a general description of the procedure. We can help identify what to ask, while the receiving institution remains responsible for deciding whether a particular document and form of delivery are acceptable. A complete first submission usually makes the quotation more accurate.
Frequently asked questions
Can you handle a Finnish certificate that also contains Swedish?
Send every page so we can identify the languages involved. Separate Swedish wording may require different authorisation or resources. We will define the scope and check availability before giving a firm quotation.
Do you cover Finnish into Spanish and Spanish into Finnish?
State the direction required. We work with accredited Finnish sworn translators, but confirm the authorisation and availability relevant to each assignment. Availability in one direction should not be inferred from the other.
Will an electronically signed PDF be accepted?
That depends on both the professional's delivery method and the receiving organisation's rules. Ask the recipient about electronic originals and tell us if paper is required. We will confirm the workable format before production.
Must I apostille a Finnish document first?
The recipient decides whether authentication is needed for your procedure. Apostille and translation serve different purposes. If an apostille already exists, include it in the copy sent for assessment.
What if I receive a replacement certificate?
The signed translation must correspond to the version you submit. A new issue, amended note or later apostille can change the scope and deadline. Send the final version before confirming the work.
